Usually when FUF meets up, it's all business, learning, rehearsing, 'to do' lists. It's seemed like it has needed to be that way because all of us are so busy and there's just always so much to do. Wednesday we decided to do something a little different and start a new project. We love a good show, good musicianship, crowd interaction, believability, energy, props, everything BIG! Bands like U2, OneRepublic, 30STM Sigur Ros, to huge artists like Lady Gaga have something interesting for the eyes and ears. Taylor Swift still records her videos and their team is always looking at what ways they can improve their show. The music requires creativity, but so does the performance. For those of you who've come to our show, you've seen what we do and how much gear we can end up having. Well, we decided to add more.
A lot of our new material is more synth based, check out our latest song 'Take It or Leave It'. I don't like our piano set up on stage. I've been having dreams of playing for hours, sitting at a piano, switching it up on stage. If I had it my way we'd bring my baby grand everywhere, but it's just not practical. So what's the next best thing? Customizing an old piano from the 20's and bringing THAT with us. So we got on Craigslist and found someone with a free one:) After blasting the 'Top Gun' soundtrack all the way to Rocklin, we met the guy. His name was Ron, he was nice and thought we were rockstars, so we gave him our EP. Moving a piano isn't easy. Don't do it ever. Just let it sit there till you die. Ok well, unless you have a lot of people to help. So, we're driving home thinking of all the possibilities what will happen with this thing. I suggested after we gut it, using the insides for storage. Steven got excited and seriously said, "yea we could fit our guitar strings in there." As if a pack of guitar strings was ever a hard thing to pack anywhere... It was hilarious. So we get it home and almost die unloading it. Sweating our asses of, we start disassembling it, and it went pretty fast. Finding every screw, pulling every key out, it was awesome. We found a toy car and LOTS of dust. Today I started unscrewing the iron back piece that has the tightly wound strings. Thinking if one of these snaps I could seriously hurt myself I pushed on and realized I have to start taking some of these strings off. I had no tool for it, but I decided to try a drum tuning key and BAM it worked. As of now, there's 27 more screws to uncover, but when I start something I don't stop until it's done. 'Never Give Up' is a motto engrained in me, for better or for worse, so I expect to be working on this for the next few days. We're still planning on what to exactly do with this thing live besides play piano on it, but you know we like lights:) Can you think of something amazing we can do with it? Comment below!

![]() Sooooo..This Is Our First Time.. All too frequently I have wanted to say something on my mind in detail, share a new song I'm working on, excited about, discuss, etc and with all the social media we're on that helps, but usually there are limits; so here we are. Forewarning, I might seem bipolar, educated, silly, but that goes with who I am; so welcome to my mind and I hope for the interested, you get more satisfaction on what's going on. Currently 10:15PM Just finishing the new website layout as a hub for where our fans can go to check on the latest. John is on the phone right now as we're going through our 8th, 9th and 10th possible location for the performance half of the 'Tear The Walls Down' Music Video. Don't have much of a budget so that's the issue. Abandoned train stations, warehouses etc are the aesthetic we're after; and we're already a month behind schedule. It will be worth it. New Single Sort of! We are releasing a new song you have all heard before if you have been to our live shows. It will be on iTunes and other locations shortly. We will definitely be playing it at our next show in Roseville on July 18th at Lounge of Life and the CA State Fair:) I am hoping to post every few days or so, at least weekly so stay tuned! |
